Tiny Shoes, Big Dreams: Capturing the Cuteness in Fabric and Light

For years, I've been crafting these miniature works of art – tiny shoes, both for babies and dolls (but more about the doll shoes - later, as there's a story to tell, and not one for sure). Lots of them were made, some - playful and bright, bursting with color, others - minimal and delicate, so very natural. And all of them - soft and delicate, perfect for babies as their first shoes. Crafted from pure wool, these delicate wonders are like little cocoons for those brand new toes. Soft and breathable, they'll keep tiny feet cozy and warm. So let's take a look at some of them:

Wet Felting and Beyond: A Look Back at My Creative Journey

Well, so what happened in my creative journey from 2016 to 2023 (yes, my blog has been silent for that long, seven years, can you imagine?!). I lived. I dreamed. And I worked. A lot.

Many of you know my love for wet felting. This unique technique, where wool fibers are coaxed and sculpted with water and soap, has always been a cornerstone of my creations. Over the past years, I've delved deeper into this art form, honing my skills and exploring its endless possibilities. This has allowed me to expand my product line and offer even more unique and beautiful felted pieces in my shop: VAIDAPETREIKIS.etsy.com

Some new things were born during this time, as you might have seen in my last post with the adorable bunny egg warmers. But those aren't all – my absolute love so far has been creating these tiny felted acorns, same could be said about the gnomes, and baby shoes, for sure.

But my creative journey hasn't been confined to wool alone. While photography isn't a new passion, I've found myself taking countless photos during this period of time. Guess without this passion it would be much more difficult to show my works the way I like. So here they come, some works of mine:

P.S. If you're curious about wet felting or photography and have any questions about the techniques used in my work, don't hesitate to ask! I'm always happy to share my knowledge and inspire others to explore their own creativity 🤍

Recharged and Ready to Create: Some of My Works to Share

Happy to be back again! I've taken a bit of a break, but I'm feeling recharged and ready to create.

In the meantime, I've been busy making these adorable little bunny egg cozies. I know Easter has passed, but they're perfect for year-round use, adding a touch of whimsy to your breakfast table, don't you think so?

I absolutely love the versatility of things. And in this case, a simple egg cozy becomes a perfect table centerpiece (special thanks for the photo to my friend Kristina, who is an author of this truly beautiful tablecloth - check for more at NATIVE.LT ).

Each bunny is a one-of-a-kind work of art, handcrafted from pure wool and brimming with personality. Their little embroidered faces are sure to bring a smile to your face (and maybe even your eggs!).

Journeying On: A Snapshot into the Past and Exciting Ventures Ahead

In the spirit of change and creativity, I'm delighted to update you on the latest chapter of my blog journey. The decision to infuse my Instagram world into this space was met with such warmth, and I'm thrilled to see this fusion of visuals and words flourishing. Therefore, I will continue to enrich this space with a certain blend of visual aesthetics and narratives, adding an extra layer to the snapshots you might have seen on my Instagram.

Reflecting on the past and rediscovering this creative space has been a nostalgic journey. The photo of me, crafting tiny felted acorns in my studio, serves as a poignant reminder of how time has gracefully woven its threads. Have I changed? Certainly. The hair is shorter, and I am more than three years older. Has my studio changed? A little bit. The subtle shifts reflect the evolution of both the artist and the sacred space where ideas come to life.

On that note, for those curious to explore more, I invite you to peek into my Etsy shop, where you can find and purchase my felted creations. Promise to add photography prints soon, expanding the visual journey beyond felted wonders.

Bridging Worlds: Integrating Instagram and Embracing Longer Narratives

After a bit of reflection, I've decided to make a few changes around here, in my corner of creativity, and I couldn't be more thrilled to share them with you.

Firstly, I've made the decision to bring a bit of my Instagram world into this blog space. Those captivating snapshots, the visual stories that have been living on my Instagram account, will now find a home here as well. I realized that while Instagram is fantastic for a quick scroll, my blog provides the canvas for a more immersive experience. So, expect to see a fusion of visuals and words, creating a richer tapestry of my adventures in the world of wool, photography, and all things beautiful.

Moreover, I've set an intention to write more—longer texts, deeper reflections, and meaningful narratives. I've always considered myself more of a visual person than a writer, but I believe there's a beautiful synergy between words and images. Do hope this blog will be the space where stories unfold, experiences are shared, and thoughts find expression.

I find myself wondering why I ever stopped adding content here. But dwelling on the past isn't as important as reigniting the present. So, let's embark on a journey of rediscovery. Together, let's revisit the creations, memories, and experiences that have unfolded over the years during my absence from this space.

To kick things off, let's start with "HI" from me, right here in my studio. I know, I know, in this self-portrait, there's a certain seriousness, a reflection of the time passed without being present here - perhaps a subtle trace of the longing that comes with the realization of the absence.

DO WHAT YOU LOVE, LOVE WHAT YOU DO - this is my everyday inspiration. It stands as a guiding principle in my philosophy of life and being - a reminder to infuse passion into every endeavor, especially as I rekindle my connection with this blog, aiming to do what I love and, in turn, love what I do.

As we delve into this journey, I'll offer you a small glimpse into my studio, a sacred space where ideas come to life, and creativity finds its home. Would you like to see more of my creative space?

Rediscovering My Blog: Rediscovering the Beauty of Words

Have you ever drifted away from something you loved, only to realize its absence left a void in your life? That's precisely what happened to me with my blog. I can't remember exactly why I stopped writing here, but I believe the allure of Instagram and Facebook may have played a role.

But now I am back, and I'm really excited to be back, to rediscover (or discover) the art of storytelling, and to connect with you on a more profound level. Thank you for welcoming me back into the world of words, and I can't wait to share this creative journey with you. It's time to rediscover the beauty of words in my visual journey where images and colors will speak volumes.
